Plants and Animals

What’s happening?

Students are engaged in their second unit of study, Plant and Animal Adaptations.  Students are learning how to describe the structures, behaviors, and needs of plants and animals. We began the unit by discussing the types of habitats there are and what organisms need to survive.

“What can I do at home?”

At home, ask your child what plants needs to survive and what animals need to survive. Brainpop Jr. and YouTube have various videos on plant and animals. Your child could compare and contrast plant adaptations with animal adaptations.


What it looks like

Below you will see kids from class 402 engaged in exploring different habitats. We held discussions about the different types and watched videos. We then created bubble maps in our science notebooks to record our findings.
